EVERYBODY CAN DESIGN’S PRIVACY POLICY.
(a modern love story of cookies and privacy.)
(a modern love story of cookies and privacy.)
Hi, we’re Everybody can design. Some people call us, “Everybody”, some just call us “ECD”… but whatever name people use to refer to us, we’re Everybody can Design. Our principal place of business is, Westersingel 44-II, 3014 GT, Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
If you’re reading this, then you’re already aware of us— and you’re looking into our privacy policy. More specifically you’ll be interested in how highly we regard the private details of anyone who visits our website. Most importantly we state, first and foremost, whilst we are in communications and marketing— we are not in the business of selling, or indeed, sharing your information to other businesses. That’s just not us.
In this document however, we explain just how we use the small amount of data that we do collect from you, why we collect it and the very limited conditions under which we would disclose it to another party and how we will keep it secure. So if you are still with us, read on!
Personal Information is a wide term covering anything that might be used to identify you personally (This can be (and is not limited to) any of the following; your name, title, email address, postal address, phone number, credit card numbers etc.)
That’s quite some data, but you will be happy to know that when you visit our site we collect only anonymous statistics. Nothing is identifiable. Because we keep it anonymous we never attach any visit to a specific user, or their I.P. number. It’s just not in our interest or indeed, your benefit if we did do that.
However, on our site the only time personal information is needed, and stored, is if you request to be added to our Mailing list. This is purely your decision. Our mailing lists are handled by an external supplier, that being “MailChimp”. You should review their policy at the MailChimp site.
Whilst it sounds like the title for a nice bedtime story, it’s actually the law which states you have to be over 13 years of age to register with our site for email updates. So if you’re under 13 years of age and register, we will assume you have permission to do so from one of your parents or a legal guardian. That’s how the cookie crumbles.
Let’s be clear, whilst we love biscuits of any kind, “Cookies”, in this case, doesn’t mean the sort which leave those pesky crumbs in your keyboard or all over your desk. We’re talking about the small text files that contain information transferred to your hard drive when you visit our site. All these cookies do is help us analyse web traffic. These cookies contain no information that can identify you personally in any way. In addition to that, these cookies also give us no access at all to your computer or attached peripherals in any manner whatsoever.
It’s worth pointing out that most browser software automatically accepts cookies by default. You should consult your web browser’s help options to discover how to switch this off, or how to determine which cookies are allowed to store data and which are not. If you do decide to disallow cookies when you visit our website, then the experience won’t change on publicly visible pages and posts.
Finally, for those who might be interested… no, we don’t know why they are called cookies.
The Everybody website will contain links to other web sites, which are outside our control. We simply cannot be held responsible for the data contained therein, or indeed the level of protection or care that those sites take of your personal data.
