Portfolio: Bedford Steels website

Bedford Steels is a very specialist steel manufacturer in the industrial East end of the historic steel city of Sheffield.

The company is well over 200 years old, and as part of a long running modernisation of the business, we were contacted to have a look at materials the company communicates it’s offer with.

The first point of call for us was obvious as the website had not been updated for over 6 years. We felt this was the first place to start as the company relies mainly on word of mouth and market knowledge to entice new and expanded business.

Being a very niche product there are some unusual anomalies which occur, but give a bigger creative challenge, which helps us as designers to make a bigger impact. The client, in principle, only required a web presence, which explained who they are and the main products they produce. This is a relatively simple job to do and we completed the website within budget and in a rather short time.

The project went live in the middle of July and is regarded as a starting point for a new era in the marketing activity of the company.

If you click the image above you can look at the site, and read about the unique product that this Steel innovator makes.

Portfolio: Help Lavi Ben Moshe

Help Lavi Ben Moshe Poster EnglishFlyer Lavi Ben Moshe EnglishFlyer Lavi Ben Moshe Dutch

Some time ago, a cousin of one of our partners asked if we could find a way to help raise funding in the Netherlands for the research of Canavan disease. What’s Canavan disease? It’s an illness that belongs to a group of conditions known as leukodystrophies. In short, it is a progressive degeneration of the brain. Unfortunately, Lavi Ben Moshe has this disease.

To help Lavi’s chances to survive, his parents have started a campaign to raise attention and funding to develop more successful treatments that should benefit anyone suffering from this merciless disease. Everybody developed a poster and flyer in Dutch and English, with versions in Hebrew and German being developed at this time. Everybody was deeply touched by this family’s ordeal, and hopes this poster and flyer will contribute to much wider awareness of both the illness and this campaign.

If you’d like to donate, then visit www.give2lavi.org. Thank you!

Portfolio: Padley and Venables Walls

P&V RECEPTION GRAPHIC 01

As part of the 100 year celebrations which have seen the entire offices redesigned and opened out to help develop the company and bring it up to date. As part of our ongoing work with Padley and Venables, we were asked to develop a wall graphic for this reception area to reflect the website designer previously by us. The size of this graphic is 5 metres X 1.75 m.

It was a simple thing for us to provide a strong graphic which shows the international nature of the company’s business and reminds every visitor of the scale of the operation. The other side of the wall shown here, is also covered with a graphic which helps communicate the company brand values to the staff on a daily basis.

The interior design and build was taken care of by Domino Commercial Interiors in Sheffield, with whom we worked to produce the graphic and get it in place.

We’ll update you with more on this project soon.
